Τίτλος. Markov bases: connecting commutative algebra and statistics.
Περίληψη. Markov bases are one of the first connections between commutative algebra and statistics. In the first half of this talk, I will focus on this connection and explain how Markov bases occur in statistics and the fundamental theorem of Diaconis-Sturmfels. The aim is for the first half of the talk is to be accessible to masters/PhD level students. Then, in the second half, I will talk about my recent work on strongly robust toric ideals. In particular, I will explain how to build a strongly robust simplicial complex which determines the strongly robust property of toric ideals. Time permitting, I will discuss about our results on the strongly robustness propery in the case of monomial curves as well as codimension 2 toric ideals. This is joint work with A.
