Master’s Thesis Preparation
Below is an outline of the procedures related to the preparation and submission of the Master’s Thesis.
Start of the Master’s Thesis
The postgraduate student must send electronically (email: pgradsemfe@mail.ntua.gr) to the Secretariat of the School the Master’s Thesis Assignment Form, where the thesis title and the proposed Supervisor are indicated.
This submission takes place during the registration/enrolment period of each academic semester, according to the announcement of the School’s Secretariat.
The form is then forwarded for approval to the Programme Committee (PC).
After Completion
After completing and writing the Master’s Thesis (M.Sc. Dissertation), the supervisor sends electronically to the Secretariat of the MSc Programme (email: apms@math.ntua.gr, cc: pgradsemfe@mail.ntua.gr) the Thesis Completion and Examination Committee Form.
This form includes:
the student’s details,
the thesis title in Greek and English,
and the proposed three-member Examination Committee, whose members hold the same or a related scientific specialization as the subject of the MSc Programme.
The School’s Secretariat checks whether the student has fulfilled all other academic requirements (i.e., has no pending courses). Once confirmed, approval is granted for the student’s thesis defense before the three-member Examination Committee.
After the Successful Presentation
Following the successful defense of the thesis, and on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar, the Supervisor completes the Official Thesis Grading Form, which is provided by the Secretariat upon request—only if all the above conditions have been met.
The original Thesis Grading Form, signed by all members of the Examination Committee, must then be sent by the Supervisor to the Secretariat of the MSc Programme, Mathematics Department (contact: Ms. Angela Papadaki, email: apms@math.ntua.gr, phone: 210 7721748) and cc’ed to the School’s Secretariat (pgradsemfe@mail.ntua.gr).
Electronic Submission to the NTUA Library
To issue the official MSc Diploma, the student must contact the Central Library of NTUA (http://lib.ntua.gr) and follow the required steps for the electronic submission of the thesis through the designated platform: https://dspace.lib.ntua.gr/xmlui/submit
Completion of the Process
Finally, the student must send to the Secretariat of the School (email: pgradsemfe@mail.ntua.gr, tel.: 210 7723174) the following:
The two (2) certificates issued by the NTUA Library.
The Master’s Thesis in PDF format.
Once all the above steps are completed, the graduation process from the MSc Programme is officially concluded.
